02 Fieldwork in the Federal District

A sample that represents the whole Federal District, not just the Plano Piloto

Conditions vary widely from one administrative region of the Federal District to the next. That’s why the sample is spread by region, sex, age and social class, and can include the surrounding municipalities (the Entorno) when the study’s audience lives or travels there.

When the goal is to compare regions, each one gets its own sample. As a reference, given the Federal District’s population, 1,225 interviews give a margin of about ±2.8 points at 95% confidence.

Question 02

Can results be analyzed by administrative region of the Federal District?

Yes. The sample can cover all 35 administrative regions and be designed to compare regions or groups of regions, such as Plano Piloto and Lagos, Ceilândia and Sol Nascente/Pôr do Sol, or Taguatinga, Águas Claras and Vicente Pires. Each region or group analyzed separately needs its own sample, which we define in the proposal.

Question 03

Can the survey include the surrounding municipalities?

Yes. When the study’s audience also lives or travels in the Entorno, those neighboring municipalities are included in the sampling plan, with their own quotas.
